Micah Awe is not afraid to try something new. Change has been a constant part of his life, starting at the very young age of 3, when he moved with his family from Lagos, Nigeria to the United States. Diving into uncharted waters we’ve got Micah on board and are here to announce the first Micah Awe NFT. This one-of-a-kind collectible will be available in an auction from Wednesday May 12 to Friday May 14, only on the Opensea.io marketplace.
As a linebacker at Texas Tech, Micah was named defensive captain in his senior year (2015), and led the entire Big 12 in total tackles. He held it down on the defensive end while teammate Patrick Mahomes tore it up on offense, under head coach Kliff Kingsbury (now with the Arizona Cardinals). After a strong senior year, Micah had brief stints with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets, and with the CFL’s BC Lions and Toronto Argonauts. In February of 2021, he signed with the Ottawa Redblacks. No matter where the journey takes him, hustle and heart is the name of his game.

Micah is just as unstoppable off the field as he is on it. When the pandemic cancelled the 2020 CFL season, Micah launched his own app, “PurpleShift”, to help give athletes at any level a fair shot at recruitment. The PurpleShift movement empowers and connects athletes to bring the best out of each other, moving past the eye test and helping recruits gain exposure with the power of data.
Micah’s passion is captured in this NFT, flexing his arms and celebrating after making a huge defensive play. On his jersey you’ll see the PurpleShift logo - as the work he does off the field is just as important to him as his craft on the field.
